Softball

Youth softball is a popular sport played by girls typically between the ages of 5 and 18. It shares many similarities with baseball but is played with a larger ball on a smaller field, with modified rules to accommodate the differences in size and strength between male and female players. Players have the opportunity to learn and play various positions on the field, including pitcher, catcher, infielder, outfielder, and designated hitter. Coaches may rotate players through different positions to provide exposure and experience.

Age Divisions:

Youth softball leagues are organized into age divisions to ensure fair competition and safety. Common divisions include 6U (ages 5-6), 8U (ages 7-8), 10U (ages 9-10), 12U (ages 11-12), 14U (ages 13-14), 16U (ages 15-16), and 18U (ages 17-18).

Schedule:

The league schedule includes regular-season games, practices, and possibly playoffs or championship events. Games are typically held on weekends, with practices scheduled during the week. Leagues may also organize tournaments or inter-league play with neighboring communities.
